Bloggers Bake for Hope
I would like to announce the kickoff of Bloggers Bake for Hope, a virtual bake sale as part of Bake for Hope. Bake for Hope is a nation-wide, week-long bake sale benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. During the week before Mothers Day, volunteers hold bake sales all over the country and donate the proceeds to local Susan G. Komen affiliates. I’ve partnered with Cara from Cara’s Cravings to create this virtual bake sale which will benefit Massachusetts Komen for a Cure.
Both Cara and I have been successful fundraisers for breast cancer charities in the past. Cara is currently organizing the third annual Bake for Hope at her company’s office site in Marlboro, MA. Last year’s event raised over $2500.
I have made breast cancer awareness part of my personal mission. In 2004, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at a young age. Since then, myself, her sisters, mom, and aunts walk the Race for the Cure every year. I also raised over $2500 in 2010 while participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I am signed up to walk again this year and have already raised almost $1500 and still have 6 months of training and fundraising to go!
Cara and I are kicking off Bloggers Bake for Hope and we need your help to raise money for breast cancer. We are asking bloggers and bakers to donate baked goods to the bake sale (thanks to everyone who has already signed up to bake!). Buyers will them bid on items online from May 4-6. Once the bake sale closes, the highest bidder will use Paypal to make a donation and the baker will ship the baked goods to them.
Please consider registering to bake for Bloggers Bake for Hope. If you have any questions, check out the FAQ section of the blog. We have also started a listing of items already donated.
Just remember – Bloggers Bake. You Buy! 100% of Proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Visit Bloggers Bake for Hope today to commit to baking (you can register until May 3!), and visit again between May 4th-6th to make a purchase and support this very important cause. And if you’d like to help even more, be sure to grab a badge and to spread the word to all your readers! You can follow us on Twitter @BloggerBakeHope and subscribe to the blog.
