Operation Baking Gals – Round 19 Is Open for Registration!

It’s that time again everyone! Time to make a real difference by BAKING! If you’ve never heard of Operation Baking Gals, check out the website. Basically, a team of bakers get together to send goodies to soldiers stationed overseas. Even non-bakers sign up in the fun to send care packages. Then the soldier being sponsored by a team shares all their goodies with his/her buddies. The shipping dates for Round 19 are May 3-12.

Team Beantown Baker will be sponsoring Richard for Operation Baking Gals Round 19. Richard is originally from Taunton, MA. He has a younger sister, Kelly. Richard has been married to Kristen and they have two children. A 7 year old son, Christopher, and a 3 year old daughter, Katelyn. You can read more about Richard in my Operation Baking Gals article which was posted today.

Please consider joining Team Beantown Baker to send goodies to Richard in Iraq. I will be doing a roundup at the end of the round, so be sure to send me any info/pics of what you send. Email me if you have any questions.

If you’d like to join my team,
1) go to http://www.bakinggals.com/ and Log In or Create a New Account
2) go to Join a Round 19 Team
3) join Team Beantown Baker to bake for Richard (if the team is full at 20 people signed up, please consider signing up for another team)
4) wait for an email with the shipping address

If you have any questions, check out the Operation Baking Gals FAQ page.

Also check this out.

You can get a special flat rate box from the US Post Office. The boxes are FREE and you can ship the box with anything in it for a flat rate of $11.95. They are specifically for APO/FPO addresses and say “America Supports You” on them. How cool is that!

I hope you can join us. If you know a soldier who would love some love from back home, let us know about that as well! If you have any questions, feel free to email me!

I (thankfully) dont have anyone you could sponsor, but just wanted to let you know how awesome it is that you’re doing this. My husband has deployed twice to Iraq in the past few years, each time for a year, and homebaked goodies were always among his favorite things to recieve. He recently got out of the marine corps but his unit is heading to afghanastan in the coming months, if I hear of anyone in need of extra goodies I’ll be sure to think of you girls! Thanks so much for supporting the troops!

This is a wonderful idea. The soldiers certainly need love from back home and what better way than cookies.
