Avon Walk Weekly Update

It’s time again for my weekly Avon Walk update. If you’d like to see my full training calendar, check it out here or on the left sidebar of my blog.

Thoughts on training: I really picked up the pace this week. Big shout out to my friend K for walking 17 miles with me yesterday. We’ve had great weather in Boston this week so I was able to get some short walks in during the week and that long walk yesterday. AND, I went to REI and got a backpack for the walk. I was able to use it on the long walk yesterday and it went really well!

Thoughts on fundraising: No new donations this week.

Miles walked last week: 28
Minutes doing cardio: 0
Minutes doing cross training or weight lifting: 0
Total $$ raised: $2,440

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far! If you’d like to donate to support my walk, you can make a donation on my Avon Walk page.

After Super Storm Sandy hit NYC, I was amazed how many people were willing to give to my collection to help friends in need. I’m glad I have a chance to return the favor. I wish all the best to your family, they are in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s home. My parents, grandma, and brother and his family all live in Washington. I am about an hour south. My brother lives a few blocks the tornado path and mom and Grandma were at Crossroads church which was really close to it. If there is anything that my family can do to help your mom, please let me know. My parents are volunteering and looking for people that they can provide assistance to.

Small world. The whole community really came together this week and it has been amazing. It’s a long road to go, but we’ve very grateful for all the thoughts and prayers.
